What's on in Barrow?

We have a list of what's on in Barrow that includes festivals, theatre, family fun, days out ideas and adventure around Cumbria's very own west coast getaway.

Barrow is one of the major towns, and cultural hotspots, in Cumbria – with some big venues, including concert and gig hub The Forum , and The Dock Museum – which often runs history-theme events and is a great place to take the family – and some great music venues including The Nines, on Dalkeith Street, which has hosted major acts like The Wedding Present, Goldie Lookin Chain, and Mike Skinner from The Streets. There is also Barrow's R&B Club, which has live blues acts on almost every week.

The live music scene in Barrow continues to grow and we've been lucky enough to speak to top acts like Sancho, The Mooncats, Jamie Bosanko and Freshman.

It can be a bit of a drive to get here – but it’s a great route, past the estuary, and we thoroughly recommend a stop off at the beautiful, historic town of Ulverston, with its Coronation Hall, independent cafes galore and arty Natterjacks venue.

Aside from the music, there's some great art going on in the town, with a great exhibition space at Art Gene, in the Nan Tate Centre. Signal Films, on Abbey Road, is regularly putting out festival-award-winning creations. And there is gallery space at The Forum too.
