Cumbria Police are investigating after a man was discovered in Ford Park in Ulverston with 'significant' injuries on his face.

Officers were alerted after the man was found on Saturday (May 11) with injuries on his face and a deep three-inch cut to his ear. 

A spokesperson for Cumbria Police said: "Cumbria police were contacted at around 10.55pm on 11 May to a report that a man had been found with facial injuries.

"Officers attended and the man was taken to hospital for treatment for his injuries.

"Officers are investigating the incident as a possible assault and are very keen to hear from anyone with information on what happened that evening.
