A walker was taken to hospital yesterday (May 3) after a fall whilst descending from a Lake District crag.
Conditions were described as 'mild and dry day' when three people had reached the top of Black Crag located just a few miles north of Coniston.
The trio had began making their way down when a man slipped and injured his lower leg.
A spokesperson for Coniston Mountain Rescue team said: "North West Ambulance Service asked us to help, so we drove as close as we could and walked the rest of the way.
"The man was assessed, pain relief given, leg splint applied and then carried down on our stretcher to his party’s vehicle for transport to Furness General Hospital.
"Thank you also to the two gentlemen who were with the casualty, for their assistance during the stretcher carry."
In total, the rescue took just over three hours and involved eight team members.
