WIN! A meet and greet with Olly Murs in Cumbria
FORMERstar Olly Murs will bring his highly-acclaimed show to Brunton Park in June, and we have chance for you to meet the man himself before watching the show.
This summer he will be embarking on his biggest headline tour to date - 22 outdoor shows across the UK, with an appearance at Carlisle's Brunton Park on Saturday June 3 being the second night of the run.
"A summer tour is not something I've done in a long time, and there's places on it that I haven't been to in a while, so it'll be good to get out and see those people," says the Essex-born platinum-selling performer.
"The outdoor shows are always that little bit crazier. When you're in an arena, you can create more of a story on the stage, but for a festival or a park, it's all just about the live performance.
"I've got some more singles on the way around the time of the tours, but people already seem excited enough about it - it's currently close to being sold out, so to still be doing that after all these years is great."
Having registered his fourth successive UK album chart number one, and with more than 10 million record sales under his belt, Olly is arguably at the peak of his success so far - 11 years after shooting to stardom alongside the likes of Joe McElderry, Stacey Solomon and Jedward.
With five albums under his belt and a wealth of touring history, Olly Murs emerged fromin 2009 to be one of the most successful solo artists from the show.
His gig will be the final part of a double-header at the Warwick Road ground, with British reggae legends UB40 playing there the night before.
There will also be support from 19-year old singing sensation Louisa Johnson who has been announced as Olly’s support act. Her emotive voice, distinctive style and infectious spontaneity are certain to prove a hit with fans at each show.
Louisa has been a familiar face since her spectacular win on the X Factor in 2015 as the youngest ever winner – followed by an impressive debut album and a hit collaboration with Clean Bandit which laid the foundations for what looks set to be an incredible 2017.
With the singer opening forrunner-up Olly on more than 20 dates up and down the UK, Louisa is set to bring her winning performance to Cumbria.
“I am so excited to be supporting Olly on his summer tour. He is an incredible artist; an absolute inspiration, and we both cannot wait to see all the fans in Carlisle. It’s going to be a brilliant night!”
